Take Control of Your Future: Pension Awareness Week 2025

15 to 19 September 2025 is Pension Awareness Week. This is a great opportunity to think about how much income you will need in retirement. Your LGPS pension could play a big part in reaching your goals. Finding out more about how your LGPS pension works will help you to plan for the retirement you want.

Check out the LGPS bitesize videos to learn about what a pension is, how your LGPS pension works, paying more or less into your LGPS pension, when you can take your pension and much more! You can find out more about your LGPS pension with the Norfolk Pension Fund on this website. A good place to start is by reading the A Brief Guide to the LGPS, which will give you a good idea about the benefits your membership of the scheme provides.

If you are a member of the Norfolk Pension Fund, Member Self-Service offers a great way to access your pension details quickly and securely. With Member Self-Service you can view your pension account benefits and use the Benefit Projectors to calculate how much pension you might get. You can register with Member Self-Service here.

Active and deferred members of the Norfolk Pension Fund will be posted their Annual Benefit Statement booklet during September. The statement shows the benefits you have built up as at 31 March 2025 and an indication of what you might get when you retire. Active members can also view their Annual Benefit Statement using Member Self-Service. Please check your statement to make sure the details are correct and to see if your retirement plans are on track.

LGPS Tools and calculators also offer  way find out more about how the Scheme works, how your pension will grow and your options as an LGPS member. The calculators show how your LGPS pension builds up, how much you will pay, paying extra and taking a lump sum.
