From 1 April 2026, changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) came into effect as part of the Government’s Access and Fairness proposals.
These changes focus on periods of unpaid leave and family‑related leave. This supports efforts to reduce the gender pensions gap, as women are more likely to take unpaid leave during their careers.
Employers will need to ensure their payroll and pension processes are updated to reflect the new rules and submit relevant data to the Norfolk Pension Fund using i-Connect.
